Hi, I’m Matthew Theisen. I started this blog in 2016 when I began learning about data science.
I became a data scientist by self-study after completing a PhD in Bioengineering. Read about how I became a data scientist.
Why “Beyond Data Science”?
Data science is a multiplier skill. Alone it’s great, but combined with others it becomes even better. For example:
- Data science plus web development
- Data science plus storytelling
- Data science plus leadership
I like to write and learn in a way that connects building blocks like machine learning, statistics and data cleaning with other topics to become even more relevant.
